The See-the-Need Read-a-Thon fundraiser for Hurricane Harvey relief has officially ended and we will be sending a check for $330 to Americares to help in this effort. From their website: "Your gift makes it possible for Americares to get medicine and critical care to people in need. For every $1 donated, Americares has provided $20 in aid. Because we deliver donated medicine and medical supplies to a trusted network of locally-based providers, the impact of your gift is multiplied many times over." and "Donations to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund will support Americares response to the hurricane. Should Americares raise funds in excess of what's needed to respond to this particular crisis, the funds will be redirected to where the need is greatest." This means that the $330 we are sending will have the effect of $6600 to help the people in Texas and Louisiana that were victims of the hurricane!! To see more about how Americares is helping people, visit their website at http://www.americares.org/…/new…/news/2017/0818-harvey-news/ Thanks to all who supported this effort. |
