Important Pre-Participation Information - Athletes & Parents
Student Accident Insurance (Required to participate in school activities of any kind)
Our school/district has selected the Student Insurance Plan from K&K Insurance Group to make reliable coverage available to parents. If you don’t have other insurance, this plan may be a resource to consider. Additionally, even if you have other coverage, this plan can help fill expensive “gaps” caused by deductible and co-pays. Coverage may be purchased at any time during the school year by visiting www.studentinsurance-kk.com
Remind (Communication application for smartphones)
Our school/district staff members will use the "Remind" app to communicate real-time information to our student-athletes and parents. Once your season begins, coaches will share the "Remind" code with all athletes and parents. Each code is specific to their respective programs, so please ensure that you're signed up for "Remind" at the start of each athletic season. https://www.remind.com/
Physical Examination (Must be submitted every 2 years)
The MSHSAA by-laws state that anyone wishing to participate in athletics, spirit groups, show choir, and band must have a physical examination at least every two years which declares them physically fit to participate before they can practice or compete. One physical examination is good for two years from when it was administered, regardless of the number of activities the student chooses to participate in throughout the school year, unless the student’s physician recommends an additional examination, or the student exhibits a new condition that must be cleared by a physician before participation can begin/resume.
- NOTE: Concussion information is located on the MSHSAA Physical Form, but must be completed each school year.
Student Drug Testing (Must be submitted each school year)
Student-athlete drug testing is done through a 3rd party company, Tomo Drug Testing. Prior to the start of the season, athletes will be required to complete this documentation. Students or guardians with questions related to the drug testing policy or procedure can contact the school Activities Director.
